The KOLO Ladle 2 has a modest Nordic shape and one property that matters more than the shape: the bamboo handle will never burn your hand, however long the sauna has been running.
Bamboo Over Metal
A full metal ladle left on a bench near the stove becomes impossible to pick up. Bamboo does not take on heat the same way, which is why the handle is bamboo and only the head is aluminium. At 0.4 lbs it stays easy to control at the end of a long arm.
The Right Amount of Water
The head holds 10.1 ounces, roughly a third of a litre, which is about one good throw onto the stones. Enough steam to change the room, not so much that you drown the heater.
